Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL), a joint venture between Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), has rolled out its 400th fuselage for the AH-64E Apache attack helicopter from its advanced manufacturing facility in Hyderabad.
The 52,000 sq. m. facility manufactures Apache fuselages in India, which are then shipped for integration into complete aircraft supplied to customers worldwide, including the US Army. The milestone also highlights the growing role of India’s aerospace manufacturing ecosystem in supporting global defence programmes.
TBAL was established in 2016 and currently employs more than 750 engineers and technicians. The facility uses robotics, automation and advanced aerospace manufacturing technologies to produce fuselage aerostructures for the Apache platform.
The company’s Indian manufacturing programme also supports the country’s Apache fleet. The Indian Army received six AH-64E Apaches in 2025, while the Indian Air Force operates a fleet of 22 Apaches.

The latest milestone comes as the Apache continues to serve as a key attack helicopter platform globally. Approximately 1,300 Apache aircraft are currently in operation across 19 countries, underlining the scale of the international supply and support ecosystem around the platform.
The rollout of the 400th fuselage demonstrates the increasing maturity of India’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities and its integration into global defence supply chains. It also reflects the country’s expanding role in producing high-value aerostructures for internationally deployed aircraft platforms.
