TAP Maintenance & Engineering expands Hangar capacity to support MRO demand

TAP Maintenance & Engineering, the MRO arm of TAP Air Portugal, has announced the expansion of its main hangar operations with a new maintenance platform now entering service. According to the company’s recent LinkedIn update, the approximately 9,000 sq m platform has been designed to support simultaneous maintenance activities for both wide-body and narrow-body aircraft.

The expansion is expected to strengthen TAP Maintenance & Engineering’s operational capacity as global airlines continue facing rising demand for maintenance slots, particularly across Europe. The new infrastructure includes support systems for aircraft maintenance operations and reflects the broader industry trend of increasing MRO investments to manage fleet growth and longer aircraft utilisation cycles.
