GTES Acquisition builds on the strategy for a single-point solution, accelerates STS’ growth into the engine sector, and Bolstering Customer Solutions
STS Aviation Services (STS), a subsidiary of STS Aviation Group and a prominent international provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, announced its successful acquisition of GT Engine Services (GTES), a United Kingdom-based company specializing in engine MRO operations.
The acquisition of GT Engine Services, a prominent player in aircraft engine maintenance and repair, aligns with STS’ strategic focus on providing comprehensive solutions and expedites its penetration into the engine sector. This move enhances STS’ service portfolio, offering increased capabilities to its expanding customer base.
Greg Macleod, former owner and CEO, will maintain his leadership role within GT Engine Services as Managing Director of Engineering Services. He will directly report to Ian Bartholomew, the Executive Vice President & Managing Director of STS Aviation Services Europe.

GT Engine Services was established in 2010 and, with a uniquely people-centric approach led by Greg Macleod, has positioned itself to become the UK’s leading engine management provider, delivering repair and management of CFM56, CFM LEAP, CF34,CF6, PW4000, V2500, RB211, GTF, and Trent 700 engines.

STS Aviation Services established in 2019, currently stands as the foremost independent Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) entity in the United Kingdom, with a widening European reach, catering to commercial as well as military segments. The acquisition of GTES was signed on May 28, 2024, and the integration plan will start immediately.
