Storm Aviation, a member of the Avia Solutions Group, has consolidated its base maintenance operations at Glasgow-Prestwick Airport. This strategic move aims to enhance operational efficiency and optimize resource allocation, providing a full spectrum of aircraft maintenance solutions to both existing and future clients. The decision to close its London-Stansted base maintenance facility was influenced by a disciplined approach to managing resources and operational efficiency. By concentrating efforts at Glasgow-Prestwick, Storm Aviation can realign its strategic goals, improve productivity, and deliver high-quality services to its customers. This move also supports the company’s journey toward sustained profitability.

Since the rebranding from Chevron Aircraft Maintenance to Storm Aviation in early 2024, the company has been strengthening its local presence and showcasing its dedication to investing in the local community. Storm Aviation has made several enhancements at the Prestwick facility, including new capabilities, a refined management structure, and investments in people and infrastructure. These improvements are designed to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality services, including engine changes and C2 6-year base checks for Airbus A320/A321, Boeing B737, and B787 aircraft, all delivered on time and within budget to meet customer expectations.

Kenny Chan, Director of Maintenance, Storm Aviation said, “Focusing our base efforts at our Prestwick hangar is a strategic move to streamline our operations and improve efficiency. By centralizing our base maintenance solution at Glasgow-Prestwick, we aim to better serve our customers with the highest quality standards while ensuring a sustainable business model.”

Storm Aviation offers international line maintenance, base maintenance, and training services, operating around the clock to support commercial aircraft operators. Its customized services encompass base AOG support, workshop facilities, aircraft modification programs, tooling hire, and calibration laboratory. As a truly independent MRO, Storm Aviation can adapt its approach to rapidly changing requirements while maintaining the highest standards of work.
