Stephanie Pope will play a pivotal role in steering Boeing through a significant transitional year, emphasizing the restoration of operational and financial strength.

As Boeing COO, Stephanie Pope will take on this newly created role overseeing the performance of Boeing’s three business units, with a focus on supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and engineering excellence.

In a strategic move, Boeing has appointed Stephanie Pope as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of The Boeing Company, effective January 1, 2024. Reporting directly to Boeing President and CEO Dave Calhoun, Pope will take on this newly created role overseeing the performance of Boeing’s three business units, with a focus on supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and engineering excellence. As Boeing COO, Pope will play a pivotal role in steering the company through a significant transitional year, emphasizing the restoration of operational and financial strength. With a wealth of operational, financial, and customer experience, Pope is expected to bring stability and predictability to Boeing’s operations.

In her role as President and CEO of Boeing Global Services since April 2022, Pope has demonstrated leadership in aerospace services development and delivery. Her responsibilities included overseeing global supply chain and parts distribution, aircraft modifications and maintenance, digital solutions, aftermarket engineering, analytics, and training. Pope’s previous role as Chief Financial Officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes further enriched her understanding of Boeing’s diverse business operations.

“Stephanie brings tremendous operational, financial and customer experience to this role, as well as a proven record of performance across our commercial, defense and services business units,” said Dave Calhoun, President and CEO, Boeing. “Next year will be a significant transitional year in our performance as we continue to restore our operational and financial strength; and Stephanie will help drive the stability and predictability necessary to ensure we deliver on our customer, employee, regulatory, investor and other stakeholder commitments,” he further added.

Pope, with nearly three decades of service at Boeing, has held various leadership positions in all three business units, spanning programs and corporate functions. Her experience positions her well to take on the comprehensive responsibilities of Boeing COO. Boeing Global Services will see a new leader following Pope’s transition, with the successor yet to be named.
