The new Western Jet Aviation facility will be dedicated to providing maintenance and avionics services for large-cabin business aviation aircraft in the state of Florida, U.S.
Western Jet Aviation, a company under StandardAero, has achieved certification as an FAA Part 145 Repair Station at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport (OPF). This facility will be dedicated to providing maintenance and avionics services for large-cabin business aviation aircraft in the state of Florida. This expansion into Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport enhances the capability and reach of StandardAero and Western Jet Aviation, ensuring customers in southern Florida have access to top-notch maintenance and avionics services for their large-cabin business aviation aircraft.
The acquisition of Western Jet Aviation by StandardAero in February 2023 has paved the way for this expansion. The Van Nuys, California facility of Western Jet Aviation is renowned as one of the largest independent business jet maintenance providers, specializing in Gulfstream aircraft services. These services encompass heavy airframe maintenance, structural repair, engine line maintenance, avionics installations, engineering support, and interior soft goods upgrades.
“We are excited to bring the exceptional level of service and support to Gulfstream operators in and around Opa-locka that customers have come to expect from our Van Nuys location,” said Cooper Skeen, Maintenance Supervisor, Western Jet Aviation.
Katie Higgins, VP/GM of Van Nuys and Opa-locka locations, highlighted the importance of expanding into southern Florida. This expansion allows the company to extend support to existing customers who may require service on the East Coast when they are away from southern California.
StandardAero’s Western Jet Aviation locations in Van Nuys and Opa-locka serve as a valuable complement to other StandardAero business aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sites located in Springfield, Illinois; Dallas and Houston, Texas; Augusta, Georgia; and Gosport, UK. The company also boasts regional service centers situated across the U.S., Brazil, the U.K., South Africa, and Singapore, along with Mobile Service Teams worldwide to support operators wherever they fly.
