StandardAero has pledged to spend $10–12 million on leasehold upgrades in Springfield, Illinois where the company has a business aviation MRO facility to ensure deliverance of best quality aircraft service.

Over the course of 2.5 years, the investments will be finished in three parts in cooperation with Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport. The investments and improvements will be used for significant building renovations and modernization.

StandardAero is willing to invest in upgradation of various parameters of the facilities including, among other things, resurfacing parking lots and roads, overhauling hangar doors, replacing interior doors, repainting hangar floors, replacing HVAC systems, replacing flat roofs, upgrading paint facility equipment and painting exteriors and interiors.

Dave Pearman, Vice President and General Manager of StandardAero Springfield said, “We have already started the repair and overhaul process for our hangar doors and we’re proceeding with the other phased improvements. We are grateful to the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport for their support and once all of the upgrades are completed, we’ll essentially have a ‘like new’ operation. The modernization of our facility represents our commitment to our customers to deliver excellent customer service and the best quality aircraft service in the industry.”

Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport executed a 2.88 Mw solar project earlier this year that consists of 6 solar arrays with more than 6,500 panels on 7.5 acres of airport property.  One of the biggest solar arrays in the state of Illinois on an airport, the arrays produce close to 4,000,000 kWh annually when they are operating at full capacity.  StandardAero is one of the “greenest” facilities in the sector because it now gets all of its electrical power from solar panels.

“We are grateful for StandardAero’s continued commitment to the Springfield community. We are very excited to share this opportunity with StandardAero to pursue these facilities improvements, which will of course enhance their operation upon completion, but will also provide prospects for future growth,” stated Mark Hanna, Executive Director of the Springfield Airport Authority.

StandardAero Springfield offers business aviation aircraft airframe maintenance services, such as routine maintenance, avionics installs, complete interior renovations, and full aircraft painting.
