Claussen joins ST Engineering iDirect from Intelsat General Corporation where he served as Vice President.
ST Engineering iDirect, a global leader in satellite communications, has named Don Claussen as its new CEO, effective January 2, 2023. With the satcom industry undergoing a rapid transformation, Claussen will guide the company in enhancing its global leadership and technological vision. Claussen, who is based in the US, has transformed the development and delivery of solutions for international satcom companies. He has over 15 years of industry experience.

We welcome Don as he joins a strong leadership team in place at ST Engineering iDirect and will play a key role in creating new growth opportunities for ST Engineering’s satcom business unit,”he further added.
From Intelsat General Corporation, where he served as Vice President responsible for Strategy, Business Development, Product Management, and Service Delivery, Claussen joined ST Engineering iDirect. Claussen coordinated the product development and service delivery teams at Intelsat General Corporation to launch a multi-orbit capability, giving end users seamless access to GEO and LEO satcom services through a single user interface.

Claussen served as vice president and general manager of a portfolio division at L3Harris with a focus on satcom products and solutions for the US and international markets before joining Intelsat General Corporation. At Viasat, Claussen also held the position of Business Unit Director, where he was in charge of the company’s broadband and narrowband satcom product lines.

Claussen served in the US Army for eight years before leaving. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Management from Colorado Technical University as well as an MBA from Northeastern University.
