Smith Myers expands ARTEMIS with Modular Payload Compliance

Smith Myers Communications is offering its ARTEMIS airborne cellular detection and geolocation system in a Modular Payload-compliant configuration, enabling faster integration with compatible unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other unmanned systems. The move aligns the system with the US Department of Defence’s Modular Payload standard, which is designed to improve interoperability and simplify technology integration across defence platforms.

The company states that the new configuration allows ARTEMIS to be deployed on a wider range of compatible platforms with minimal integration effort, whilst the enhancement supports defence, security, emergency response and search-and-rescue organisations by providing greater operational flexibility.

Andrew Munro, Managing Director of Smith Myers Communications says, “Providing ARTEMIS in a Modular Payload compliant configuration will significantly broaden the ways organisations can deploy this critical capability. Operators will be able to integrate ARTEMIS more quickly and cost-effectively across a wider range of platforms, accelerating deployment while benefiting from the system’s proven ability to detect and geolocate mobile devices in support of mission-critical operations.”

According to Smith Meyers, the Modular Payload-compliant version extends deployment options by enabling operators to integrate the system more quickly and cost-effectively. The company said this helps organisations expand operational reach, improve situational awareness and reduce risks to personnel working in hazardous, remote or difficult-to-access environments.

The latest development reflects its continued focus on delivering interoperable technologies that aid organisations in locating people more quickly, improving operational decision-making and conducting missions more safely and efficiently.
