Skyservice Business Aviation, Leading aviation provider and London Aviation Centre Ltd. have reached a final agreement for Skyservice Business Aviation to buy the hangar facility at Vancouver International Airport (YVR). This move will further solidify Skyservice Business Aviation’s position as the industry leader in Vancouver for FBO services. The deal is anticipated to close in early November, pending the fulfillment of a few requirements.

Benjamin Murray, President, and CEO at Skyservice said, “Our ongoing investment in the region reflects our unwavering commitment to our clients. We firmly believe the expansion at Vancouver Airport, built on our foundation of safety and service excellence, is a crucial element in meeting the region’s growing business aviation needs.”

Through this transaction, a larger spectrum of business aviation clients looking for personalized, effective, and quick access to Vancouver’s downtown center may now make use of Skyservice’s well-known FBO service and hangar capabilities.

The newly constructed facility provides 64,000 square feet of hangarage with 44-foot hangar doors that can house jetliners like the Boeing 737 BBJ MAX and Airbus ACJ series aircraft, in addition to an extra 12,000 square feet of office space that is available for lease.  In order to provide Vancouver-based clients with a seamless and all-encompassing aviation experience under one reliable brand, Skyservice is strategically planning to expand its current operations into the London Aviation Centre facility and improve its West Coast maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operation.

Michael Chubb, Director of Commercial Development, Vancouver International Airport (YVR), said, “Skyservice is a valued partner for YVR as we expand our role as a diversified hub that connects people, cargo, data, and ideas in service of communities across BC. We look forward to building on our existing partnership to establish Vancouver as a regional business aviation hub. We also extend our gratitude to London Air Services for their longstanding relationship with YVR and the role they have played in supporting local businesses and communities.”

Skyservice will own and run six MRO facilities and thirteen FBOs across North America, two of which are dedicated to heavy maintenance and avionics, following the transaction’s normal clearances.
