SETNA iO announces first A320neo acquisition for US teardown

SETNA iO is expanding its presence in the aviation aftermarket by acquiring its first Airbus A320neo for teardown in the US. The aircraft, previously operated by Spirit Airlines, is being disassembled at Aersale’s facility in Goodyear, Arizona, strengthening the company’s next-generation narrowbody teardown programme.

The teardown process recovered high-value components that are moving through SETNA’s integrated repair network, including Zulu Global, Landing Gear Technologies (LGT), Sentrix, SETNA Parts Lab, and a network of approved MRO partners. The repaired and certified used serviceable material is being supplied to airlines, lessors, and maintenance providers globally.

“This acquisition marks our first A320neo teardown in the United States, and another step in our continued investment in the global aerospace aftermarket,” says Tom Boulcott, Partner & Chief Strategy Officer; further adding, “Building on the knowledge and experience gained from previous A321neo programmes, this project further expands our ability to support operators, lessors, and MROs with high-quality used serviceable material and freshly repaired components.”

The programme is creating new opportunities across the SETNA Group as J&C Aero’s partnership enhances support for aircraft interiors, seating systems and other cabin components sourced directly from modern A320neo aircraft. These additions are expanding the range of products and repair services available to operators and MROs.

By integrating teardown, repair, and component distribution, SETNA iO is strengthening its global supply chain while supporting the growing demand for cost-effective and sustainable aircraft maintenance solutions. The company is preparing to make the recovered material available to customers worldwide in the coming months.
