Satair opens new Chinese entity to boost Used Parts Market presence.
Satair and VAS Aero Services will acquire end-of-life aircraft and engines

Satair has established a new entity for the growth of the used Serviceable Material business in China and to localize services in order to meet the estimated +40% global growth in USM for commercial aviation through 2027.

Satair, a global company and world leader in the commercial aerospace aftermarket established a new legal company in line with Satair’s business plan to increase the growth of Used Serviceable Material (USM) and localize services in order to meet the estimated +40% global growth in USM for commercial aviation through 2027. Through the sale of USM globally, this organization will be essential to the functioning of the first Aircraft Lifecycle Services center in China and the monetization of end-of-life assets.

Richard Stoddart, CEO, of Satair said, “The world is calling on us to establish innovative methods to establish the circularity of materials – and so are our customers. With this Aircraft Lifecycle Services centre, we are acting, setting up our organisation to support the demands of a rapidly growing market via more efficient solutions.”

By acquiring VAS Aero Services in July 2022, Satair gained specialist skills and knowledge in managing engine and multi-fleet USM, as well as the whole USM value chain.

George XU, Airbus EVP and Airbus China CEO said, “Congratulations on Satair Chengdu’s incorporation together, we’ll provide customers and the market in China a package of industrial competitive services with sustainability as the core concept, covering aged aircraft purchasing, parking, maintenance, upgrades, conversions, dismantling to USM trading. As a long-term and reliable partner for China, we’ll continue to contribute to China’s aviation industry and the circular economy as a whole.”
