Safran Landing Systems names Jean-Michel Hillion as executive vice president of the Wheels & Brakes Division.
Safran, an international high-technology group, operating in the aviation, defense and space markets, appointed Jean-Michel Hillion executive vice president of the Wheels & Brakes Division.

The industry leader in aircraft landing and braking systems is Safran Landing Systems. The company supports 27,000 aircraft and has partnerships with 20 airframers for civil, regional, commercial, and military transport.

Jean-Michel Hillion will serve as Executive Vice-President of Safran Landing Systems’ Wheels & Brakes Division as of February 1, 2023. The Electronics Division of Snecma (today Safran Aircraft Engines), where Jean-Michel Hillion began his career, had Elecma as its head of production in 1988. When the A320 went into service, he then founded the FADEC repair facility for commercial aircraft. Jean-Michel Hillion was in charge of Business Development when Snecma Control Systems was founded in 1998. 

Jean-Michel Hillion joined Messier-Bugatti ( today Safran Landing Systems)  in 2001 as the division’s programmes director for hydraulics, brake control, and monitoring. He was appointed Director of the Systems Division in 2005. He joined Sagem Défense et Sécurité (today Safran Electronics & Defense) in 2008 and helped establish and run the Safran Electronics Division. He was named the Group’s Vice-President, of Boeing Programs, in 2013, and the Groupe Vice-President, of Engineering, in 2020, both of which were based in Seattle.

Jean-Michel has been the group vice president of strategy and climate since January 2021. In addition to having an MBA from IAE in Paris, Jean-Michel Hillion, 60, graduated from the Ecole Supérieure d’Electronique Ouest electronics engineering school in 1986. (1991).
