RED Aircraft partners with BESTec for FADEC production

RED Aircraft has partnered with Freiburg-based BESTec GmbH to manufacture the Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) system for its aircraft engines.

The FADEC is responsible for electronically controlling and monitoring engine functions, including engine performance and fuel management. The system is designed to optimise engine operation while providing automated control and monitoring during flight.

Under the partnership, BESTec will produce RED Aircraft’s FADEC units at its facility in Freiburg, Germany. Production will follow aviation industry requirements for quality assurance, component traceability and manufacturing consistency.

“BESTec brings extensive expertise in the development and production of highly sophisticated electronic systems,” said Dzmitry Remsha at RED Aircraft. “By manufacturing our FADEC system in Freiburg, we further strengthen our supply chain and enhance our ability to deliver exceptional quality and reliability to our customers worldwide.”

BESTec has experience in developing and manufacturing high-reliability electronic systems for industrial applications. Its production capabilities will support the manufacture of the safety-critical electronic systems used in RED Aircraft’s propulsion systems.

“We are proud of the trust RED Aircraft has placed in us and excited to contribute to this technologically advanced program,” said Detlef Burger at BESTec. “Together, we are supporting the next generation of aircraft propulsion technology while strengthening Germany’s position as a center of engineering excellence and innovation.”

The agreement adds a German manufacturing partner to RED Aircraft’s FADEC supply chain and establishes local production capability for the engine-control system.
