RECARO Aircraft Seating has been chosen by Malaysia Airlines to furnish its new Airbus A330neo jet with the innovative CL3810 economy class seat marking Malaysia Airlines asthe first carrier in Southeast Asia to feature the CL3810 seat.

RECARO Aircraft Seating (RECARO), a leading name in the aircraft seating market, has been chosen by Malaysia Airlines to furnish its new Airbus A330neo aircraft with the innovative CL3810 economy class seat. This collaboration marks a significant milestone as Malaysia Airlines becomes the first carrier in Southeast Asia to feature the CL3810 seat. Malaysia Airlines, as the national carrier, aims to offer premium and full-service travel experiences, and this partnership with RECARO underscores their commitment to enhancing passenger comfort and satisfaction.

Notably, this lightweight seat is designed to enhance both the passenger experience and operational efficiency. Over 5,000 CL3810 seats are scheduled to be delivered for linefit on Malaysia Airlines’ A330neo aircraft, starting in Q3 2024 through 2028.

One of the standout features of the CL3810 is its sustainability aspect, being nearly 15% lighter than its predecessor. This weight reduction contributes significantly to fuel savings for airlines while optimizing overall cabin performance. The seats will be customized with a trim and finish incorporating Malaysia Airlines’ signature songket motif.

Passengers flying on these CL3810-equipped seats can expect a spacious and ergonomic experience, including features such as seat pitch ranging from 31 to 36 inches, 6-inch recline, a 13.3-inch in-flight entertainment system, and individual power access at each seat with USB-C and USB-A ports. The seat cushions, designed with layered foam and ergonomic technology, along with a six-way adjustable headrest and Comfort+ seat bottom with articulation, will further elevate comfort, especially on long-haul flights. The unique slim backrest design also provides an extra inch of knee space, enhancing overall passenger comfort.
