Cessna Citation is now offering a comprehensive fluorescent light cabin lighting solution from PWI on the Excel 560XL jets serving as a direct replacement for the fluorescent cabin lighting, covering the passenger cabin, galley, and lavatory areas.

Cessna Citation Excel 560XL jets now have access to a comprehensive fluorescent light cabin lighting replacement solution from PWI. This new PMA-approved LED cabin light system serves as a direct replacement for the original fluorescent cabin lighting, covering the passenger cabin, galley, and lavatory areas. The PWI LED cabin light system eliminates the high-voltage fluorescent lights along with the associated flicker, buzz, and hum. Moreover, transitioning from fluorescents to PWI LEDs results in significant reductions in EMI and RFI.

Offering an extremely long 100,000-hour service life, no heat generation, and instant-on lighting performance, the PWI LED system ensures hassle-free operation. The included new dimmer controls replicate the functionality of the original switches, simplifying the transition for operators.

Aircraft within the serial number range from 5001 through 5349 are eligible to benefit from the PWI LED cabin light system. Installation of the LEDs utilizes the original lighting wiring, tailored to match the specific fluorescent cabin lighting configuration of each aircraft. With various cabin options for tables, couches, and additional seating, multiple lighting systems are available to precisely match different cabin layouts.

The PWI LED cabin lighting system utilizes 4,000K neutral white color temperature LEDs and operates on the aircraft supplied 28 volts, with upwash in the headliner and downwash lighting on the side of the cabin.

“Our LEDs are a one-for-one, pre-measured lighting replacement. Since there are several cabin configurations in the Excel, PWI refers to the aircraft owner’s Cessna Interior Maintenance Manual to configure the precise replacement LED system,” said Robi Lorik, President/CEO, PWI. “PWI LEDs are a complete system that are ready to install right from the box. We even add replacement dimming controls,” he continued. “This lighting system brings the Excel up to modern appearance and performance standards,” he further added.

Backed by a 3-year PWI warranty, the Cessna Citation Excel 560XL LED cabin light system expands PWI’s LED cabin lighting options for Citation customers, joining offerings for other Citation models such as the 525 CJ1, 525 CJ2, Citation V 560, and 550 Bravo, as well as the Citation II 550. PWI also has plans for additional business jet LED cabin lighting systems, including full-color RGBW systems.

In addition to the LED cabin lighting system, PWI has developed and manufactured plug-and-play LED reading lights approved for use in over 100 aircraft, including the Citation family of jets. Furthermore, an LED Wing Inspection Light has received PMA approval for multiple Citation models.
