Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2024 with occupancy in early 2025.

The new 37,000 sq-ft Pro Star Aviation facility worth $12.4 mn consists of a multi-bay MRO hangar, a support mezzanine, and a 17,000 sq-ft office complex with the hangar has been designed specifically for Pilatus Aircraft sales and service.

Pro Star Aviation, a leading and respected aerospace modification shop, has just commenced building a $12.4 million new facility at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids. This new facility covers 37,000 square feet and consists of a multi-bay aircraft maintenance hangar and a support mezzanine, and a sleek 17,000-square-foot steel-framed office complex. In fact, the hangar has been designed specifically for Pilatus Aircraft sales and service, and thus represents a commitment by Pro Star to deliver quality aviation services.

The new project is also designed to construct a new 56,000-square-feet ramp and a taxiway connector that will significantly increase the operational efficiency and accessibility of the airport to the aircraft. The general contract for the project is awarded to the Pioneer Construction firm while architectural aspects are led by Bowers and Associates.

Another unique feature of this new facility is the impressive two-story office building. The structure features huge all-glass clerestory sections that allow ample natural light to come into the interior spaces. This design not only creates a bright and inviting atmosphere but also maintains the latest trend in modern architecture that emphasizes sustainability and energy-saving functions. The office areas are fully equipped with modern facilities such as a pilot lounge and customer relax areas to create a comfortable and productive atmosphere for staff and clients’ work and visit arrangements. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2024 with occupancy in early 2025.

Henry Laughlin, Group CEO, Pro Star Aviation said, “Our company has experienced tremendous growth over the last decade and this further expansion into the West Michigan area is a proud accomplishment. We look forward to supporting our Pilatus customers in the region from exceptional new facilities.”
