Pratt & Whitney Canada's turboprop engines power the majority of India's regional fleet, with airlines like IndiGo, Alliance Air, Fly91, and SpiceJet operating over 90 ATR-72, ATR-42, and DHC-8-400 aircraft.

Pratt & Whitney’s Bengaluru center to support 68,000 engines, employs over 150 experts, and enhance global services.

Pratt & Whitney, a division of RTX, has announced the establishment of a new Customer Service Center in Bengaluru. It will integrate this center into its India Capability Center. It will provide comprehensive customer service and operational support for Pratt & Whitney Canada’s 68,000 engines currently in service. Consequently, this development aims to enhance service efficiency and operational support.

The facility is set to employ over 150 aerospace experts and engineers. They will support a global customer service ecosystem. The company will co-locate the center with its supply chain operations. It will also house engineering and digital transformation centers of excellence in India.

Nivine Kallab, vice president, Customer Programs, Pratt & Whitney Canada, said, “With the new Customer Service Center, we are leveraging our existing investments in India and using regional talent to augment our world-class product and service dependability and customer experience service level.” 

Employees at the Customer Service Center will provide a range of services. Furthermore, These include maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) support. They will also handle spare part management, engine leasing, engine reliability analysis, and contract administration. Additionally, the center’s clientele is expected to include Indian and global airlines, original equipment manufacturers, MROs, regulatory bodies, and small operators.

Pratt & Whitney Canada’s turboprop engine families power most of India’s regional aviation fleet. Indian airlines such as IndiGo, Alliance Air, Fly91, and SpiceJet operate over 90 ATR-72, ATR-42, and DHC-8-400 aircraft. Pratt & Whitney engines power these aircraft.Additionally, Pratt & Whitney engines power the Indian Air Force’s C-295 aircraft. Moreover, RTX employs over 6,000 people across Pratt & Whitney and Collins Aerospace in India. Consequently, RTX has one of the largest presences among aerospace and defense firms in the country.
