Pratt & Whitney and OGMA announce first GTF engine induction
OGMA is integrated into the Pratt & Whitney GTF MRO network, acquiring the capability to perform disassembly, assembly, and testing for the PW1100G-JM engine and PW1900G engine.

OGMA Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal S.A. represents the 18th active GTF MRO location and the eighth facility in Europe, and the 19th MRO shop is anticipated to open by 2025 by Pratt & Whitney.

Pratt & Whitney and OGMA Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal S.A. a subsidiary of Embraer, have announced the induction of the inaugural Pratt & Whitney GTF engine at OGMA during the inaugural opening of the Alverca-based facility.

Marc Meredith, vice president of aftermarket for GTF engines, Pratt & Whitney, said, “This marks a significant milestone in our expanding relationship with OGMA and Embraer, furthering our commitment to providing global industry-leading service and support to increase GTF MRO capacity, OGMA brings more than a century of maintenance expertise to the network and will provide critical support for the growing GTF fleet in Europe.”

In 2020, OGMA Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal S.A., integrated into the Pratt & Whitney GTF Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) network, acquiring the capability to perform disassembly, assembly, and testing for the PW1100G-JM engine, which powers the Airbus A320neo family. In 2021, OGMA expanded its MRO capabilities to include the PW1900G engine, which is utilized in the Embraer E190-E2 and E195-E2 aircraft.

In 2023, Pratt & Whitney announced the expansion of three GTF Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities and the activation of six additional shops to support the increasing GTF fleet. OGMA Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal S.A. represents the 18th active GTF MRO location and the eighth facility in Europe. and By 2025, 19 operational GTF MRO shops globally are anticipated.
