Pocatello Regional Airport continues commercial flight operations in COVID-19

4 June 2020: The COVID-19 pandemic had let to the complete shutdown of commercial aviation across the globe. However with the situation slowly getting back to normal, commercial aviation is also gearing up to start flight operations. But there were some airports which were operational even during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the Pocatello Regional Airport commercial operations continued during the COVID-19 phase with stringent safety measures.

Responding to this decision Alan Evans, Pocatello Regional Airport Manager said, “Commercial air service to and from East Idaho is our top priority and we look forward to continuing to welcome anyone who needs to travel. Airport staff is working diligently to clean and sanitize the terminal and measures have been put in place by the airline and Transportation Security Administration to ensure passenger safety.

We were very pleased to hear the news that air service will continue from Pocatello Regional Airport during this time,” said Mayor Brian Blad. “Our airport provides service to a great number of citizens and businesses traveling across the country and around the world. We also want to thank Senator Mike Crapo, Senator Jim Risch, and Congressman Mike Simpson for their efforts on our behalf. Our incredible partnership with Idaho’s Congressional Delegation makes all the difference when it comes to events happening in Washington, D.C.”

SkyWest Airlines, operating as the Delta Connection, operates commercial flights from Pocatello to Salt Lake City.

Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, flight schedules and capacity have been limited.
