Philippine Airlines strengthens its long-term partnership with AFI KLM E&M with GE90 agreement

Philippine Airlines and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) have officially signed a long-term maintenance contract covering the airline’s GE90 engines. The extended partnership further consolidates one of the most established GE90 partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region.

As one of the first GE90 clients in the Asia-Pacific region, Philippine Airlines continues to rely on AFI KLM E&M’s experience to support the next stage of its fleet lifecycle, as evidenced by the agreement signed on March 25, 2026, at the airline’s Manila headquarters.

AFI KLM E&M will continue to offer extensive long-term support under the renewed agreement, including shop visits, predictive maintenance solutions, spare support, on-wing services (OWS), and engine LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) pool support. The improved framework has been specially designed to meet the cost-effectiveness and operational needs of a fleet approaching maturity.

The collaboration extends beyond the GE90 to the CFM56-5B, with a special local footprint (OWS Corner) offering customized support for Philippine Airlines’ A320 fleet.
