PHI Group (PHI) to add 12 AW189 Helicopters into the fleet to serve the global energy market starting in 2025.

Leonardo and PHI Group (PHI) have entered into a framework agreement for the procurement of 12 AW189 Helicopters, further solidifying the AW189’s position within the global offshore market by 2025. This agreement comprises both firm orders as well as purchase options and encompasses an extensive support partnership, which includes a service center agreement, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) agreement, and training solutions tailored for the AW139 and AW189 models.

Today, PHI operates more than 200 helicopters across the globe serving a number of markets, including energy and air medical.  PHI agrees to 12 AW189s including firm orders and options plus extensive support partnership, nearly 150 AW189s have been ordered with 90+ delivered to operators worldwide to date.

The AW189 boasts several unique features, including a main transmission system capable of operating without oil for up to 50 minutes, enhancing its resilience in critical scenarios. Additionally, it is equipped with a built-in auxiliary power unit, providing supplementary power for increased operational flexibility. It offers a secure way to share an accurate picture of each flight in order to assess data quickly,

Operators can choose from a selection of over 200 certified kits to customize the AW189 according to specific mission requirements. Furthermore, Leonardo Helicopters offers a comprehensive support and training package tailored to individual customer needs, ensuring optimal mission performance and safety.
