Parker Aerospace Joint Venture Provides OEM-quality Aerospace MRO Services in China

Parker Aerospace, a business segment of Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, announced that Parker FACRI, its joint venture with the Aviation Industry of China (AVIC) has officially opened for business and begun serving customers in China. Having achieved the highly sought-after CAAC 145 and FAA 145 certifications, Parker FACRI is now providing support for flight control, hydraulic, fuel, and inerting equipment produced by Parker and other manufacturers at its facility in Xi’an, China.

Previous to this certification, Parker leveraged its MRO shops in Singapore and the United States to assist airline customers in China. Despite this global support, having a local presence will be extremely beneficial for customers. “We are excited to offer OEM quality with faster turnaround time to our customers in China,” says vice president and regional general manager of Asia Pacific, Pui Ho. “Our Chinese customers will no longer encounter the challenges that result from needing to export and import repairs.”

Parker FACRI Actuation Systems is a joint venture between Parker Aerospace and AVIC’s Flight Automatic Control Research Institute. The company combines the power of an original equipment aerospace manufacturer with world-class maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities serving aircraft in China. The joint venture is located in Xi’an and includes the FAA- and CAAC-approved MRO customer service center supporting domestic Chinese airline customers for Parker Aerospace, AVIC, and third-party products. The FAA and CAAC 145 approvals require that the facilities meet exacting standards for technician training, materials, quality standards, and machinery and equipment. With these certifications, the Parker FACRI joint venture is now ready to provide OEM-quality MRO services to Chinese airlines.

Parker Director of Asia Pacific Fergus Lopez adds, “We are now able to bring OEM solutions in China, which increases efficiency and ensures customer services at the highest levels possible. Customers will benefit from services in-country: from entry into service through product maturity, and throughout the lifecycle of the product.”

Parker FACRI provides leadership in engineering support and final assembly and testing for aircraft flight control actuation system components for the ARJ21, C919, MA700, and COMAC Long-Range Wide-Body Commercial Program, plus assembly and testing for the ERJ artificial feel unit. It also provides maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for commercial aircraft components in ATA chapters 14, 27, 28, 29, 32, 47, 49, 73, and 78, including flight control, hydraulic, fuel, and other advanced Parker Aerospace products supporting the Boeing aircraft series, Airbus aircraft series, COMAC C919 and ARJ21, and other aircraft such as the Embraer 190 and XAC MA700, as well as products produced by other manufacturers.

“At Parker FACRI we’re employing lean practices to provide the level of quality and on time delivery that Parker customers expect,” said Parker FACRI general manager Cary Chua. “We also make sure that our customers find it easy to work with us, plus have a good experience in order to recommend our work to others. Our focus is more than operational excellence, we also want to ensure a premiere customer experience.”
