Following are the agreements/announcements at MRO Asia-Pacific 2022.

1) Topcast has been awarded an exclusive distribution agreement of products from Aviation Devices & Electronic Components, LLC (Av-DEC), the innovative anti-corrosion solution provider. Topcast will now represent all corrosion-prevention products engineered by Av-DEC to customers in South-East Asia. Av-DEC offers comprehensive and adaptive solutions backed by a wide array of form factors to mitigate corrosion concerns. The HI-TAK gaskets, injectable and sprayable sealants, and HI-TAK polyurethane rolled sealants (PRS) help protect aircraft structures and parts from corrosion, applicable to all kinds of flight vehicles.

2) Cathay Pacific at the MRO Asia Pacific, Singaporehas renewed the service contract with Safran Nacelles to support and maintain the thrust reversers for the 51 Airbus A330ceo jets operated by Cathay Pacific. Safran Nacelles has also been selected by Cathay Pacific and the company’s wholly owned subsidiary HK Express supports the nacelles of their 32 Airbus A321neo equipped with CFM International LEAP-1A engines. Both contracts have been signed for 5 years. The two contracts offer OEM warranties and are carried out as part of the NacelleLife support and services packages.

3) Spirit AeroSystems, Inc at MRO Asia-Pacific in Singapore announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) to develop maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the Boeing 737 Next Generation Aircraft. According to the terms of the agreement, Spirit and MAB will in collaboration work on establishing repair services for nacelle and flight control surfaces to support the Malaysia Airlines Berhad fleet and the planes of other operators before the end of 2022.

4) CAE announced at the MRO Asia-Pacific conference the company’s decision to expand its Aircraft Technical Support Services offering in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. In the first phase of expansion, CAE will create an Aircraft Record Central Service, based in its existing Kuala Lumpur office, Singapore. The new facility will specialize in aircraft transition activities for the Asia-Pacific region. CAE, with the Malaysia-based team, will be able to deliver cost-effective solutions to Asian-based lessors and airlines in the post-pandemic environment. CAE’s Aircraft Technical Support Services will complement the company’s existing CAMO and Design office already based in Singapore.
