The following agreements/announcements are being made at MRO Asia-Pacific 2022, organized in Singapore.

1.      Safran Nacelles has been awarded the Part 145 certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for its site located in Suzhou, China. The site can now offer OEM guaranteed repairs of nacelles and thrust reversers for the fleets of Airbus A330ceo, and A320neo aircraft equipped with CFM International’s LEAP-1A engines. The first A320neo nacelle from a Chinese airline is already being inspected.

2.      Spirit AeroSystems announced that Spirit Evergreen Aftermarket Solutions (SEAS), the company’s joint venture with Evergreen Technologies Corp. (EGAT), will commence business on Oct. 3 2022 in Taiwan. Spirit announced the joint venture agreement with EGAT in April 2021. The agreement will bring maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and flight control surfaces solutions for 777 GE90/Trent800 nacelles, 737 CFM56-7B thrust reversers, and flight-control surfaces along with broader nacelle MRO services on the CF6 powered aircraft and A320.

3.      AFI KLM E&M and Air Premia have announced the extension of their partnership, adjoining two Boeing 787-9s aircraft to the component support agreement which was signed between the two companies in 2020. Air Premia established a long-term partnership with AFI KLM E&M via a component support service package for its fleet of Boeing 787-9s (eventually set to total ten aircraft). Due to industry delays in the delivery of the new aircraft, Air Premia decided to lease two 787-9s from Aergo Capital, soon to be integrated into its fleet.

4.    Pratt & Whitney will establish a technology accelerator in Singapore in alliance with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). The facility will serve as a center of excellence for technology advancement. The new site will help to accelerate the development and deployment of technology insertion projects across Pratt & Whitney’s four Singapore-based MRO facilities over the next five years. The projects are expected to be worth around S$31 million (or US$22 million).
