Merlinhawk Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. has signed a strategic agreement with Boeing Defence India to provide in-country sustainment support for advanced electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) systems deployed across defence platforms in India, marking another step towards strengthening the country’s indigenous aerospace maintenance ecosystem.
The partnership will leverage Merlinhawk Aerospace‘s L3Harris WESCAM Authorized Service Centre in Bengaluru to deliver localised maintenance and sustainment services for advanced EO/IR systems. The collaboration is expected to significantly improve turnaround times, enhance operational availability and boost mission readiness for defence operators by reducing dependence on overseas support.

The agreement also reinforces India’s growing focus on developing self-reliant defence sustainment capabilities under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. By expanding domestic MRO infrastructure for mission-critical defence technologies, the partnership is expected to contribute to a more resilient and globally competitive aerospace support ecosystem.
With in-country repair and sustainment capabilities becoming increasingly important for defence readiness, the collaboration underscores the industry’s continued efforts to build world-class maintenance capabilities while supporting the long-term operational requirements of India’s armed forces.
