Magnetic Engines strengthened its CFM56 engine repair capabilities by bringing rotor balancing operations in-house through the acquisition of two specialist balancing machines —one vertical and one horizontal. The investment is reducing reliance on external service providers, shortening turnaround times, and enabling the company to undertake more advanced engine repair work.
The newly installed equipment allows Magnetic Engines to perform both static and dynamic balancing across all four CFM56 rotor assemblies, including the low-pressure compressor, high-pressure compressor, high-pressure turbine, and low-pressure turbine. Rotor balancing remains a critical step following performance restoration work or the replacement of life-limited parts, ensuring that engines are operating without excessive vibration after reassembly.

Magnetic Engines is also expanding its service portfolio by introducing three new product lines. The company is now offering full overhaul and rebuild services for the Low-Pressure Turbine (LPT) Major Module, overhaul and rebuild of the Fan and Booster Shop Module (SM21), and life-limited parts replacement on high-pressure compressor and high-pressure turbine rotors. In addition, Core Performance Restoration workscopes are now including life-limited parts replacement within a single repair programme.
The LPT Major Module rebuild is emerging as a particularly valuable capability, generating revenue comparable to a full engine repair while supporting both external customers and the company’s own engine assets.
