MAAS Aviation names Andrew Hoad as new Chairman 

The appointment of Andrew Hoad as Chairman signifies MAAS Aviation's commitment to excellence in aircraft painting and its strategic approach to navigating challenges in the MRO sector.

Andrew Hoad’s background as  Chairman of  MAAS Aviation includes senior technical positions at prestigious airlines and major Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organizations.

MAAS Aviation, a globally recognized expert in aircraft painting and exterior coatings, has appointed Andrew Hoad as Chairman. Hoad, with extensive experience in the aviation sector, assumed the role after initially joining MAAS as a Non-Executive Director in April 2022. His background includes senior technical positions at prestigious airlines and major Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organizations.

Andrew Hoad also holds non-executive directorship positions at Aerfin Ltd and TP Aerospace. MAAS Aviation, known for its expertise in aircraft painting and coatings, has appointed Andrew Hoad as Chairman. This move reflects the company’s commitment to leadership with seasoned professionals in the aviation sector.

Andrew Hoad, Chairman, MAAS Aviation said, “There are thousands of people involved in the heavy maintenance of aircraft, but there are not many that are solely focused on doing an exceptional job of painting aircraft. It’s the attention to detail and care that our people put into ensuring every livery we paint looks as good as new (if not better!) that makes me proud to be part of MAAS. “In overall aircraft maintenance spend, repainting is a relatively small piece of the pie, but it’s a very important piece nonetheless” Hoad continues. “Aircraft painting is unquestionably a highly skilled task; hence we are laser focused on ensuring that we continually train and retain the best quality people.”

The global MRO sector is facing challenges related to under capacity in serving the backlog of maintenance work that accumulated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hoad outlines MAAS’s plans for continued expansion of capabilities, both in existing markets and aircraft platforms, as well as exploring new opportunities. MAAS Aviation is positioning itself to support the industry by staying close to customers and being flexible to their needs. Key appointments have been made, and significant infrastructural enhancements are underway to prepare the business for further growth.
