Lufthansa Technik to support CFM LEAP engines powering StarFlyer’s fleet of Airbus A320 family fleet.
Lufthansa Technik is an authorized LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B Service Provider licensed by CFM International.

Lufthansa Technik will provide MRO for the CFM56 engines on the StarFlyer A320ceo fleet including inspections, boroscopy, AOG support, condition monitoring, and engine parts repair.

Lufthansa Technik and StarFlyer, a Japanese airline, have entered into a long-term exclusive contract with for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services on the engines of its Airbus A320ceo and A320neo fleets. This agreement solidifies Lufthansa Technik as the preferred provider of comprehensive technical support for CFM56-5B and LEAP-1A powerplants well into the next decade. The contract also expands Lufthansa Technik’s customer base for the modern CFM LEAP engine in Asia.

StarFlyer has recently taken delivery of its first LEAP-equipped Airbus A320neo, which is scheduled to commence operations on July 4. Two additional A320neo aircraft are set to join the fleet in 2024 and 2025. These new additions will complement StarFlyer’s existing fleet of ten active Airbus A320ceo aircraft. Lufthansa Technik will provide a wide range of MRO services for the CFM56 engines on the A320ceo fleet, including inspections, boroscopy, AOG support, troubleshooting, condition monitoring, and engine parts repair. The company will also offer complete overhauls to restore the engines to optimal condition.
