Lufthansa Technik to provide MRO services Finnair fleet CF34-10 engines.
Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey (LTAA), a member of Lufthansa Technik Group, is specialized in the maintenance of engines for regional aircraft and associated additional services.

According to the newly signed agreement, Lufthansa Technik will provide maintenance services for 25ea CF34-10 engines, operated by Finnair’s preferred partner Norra.

Lufthansa Technik, the provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification services for civil, and commercial aircraft has announced that the company has signed a 5-year agreement with the company’s long-term customer Finnair, the flag carrier and largest airline of Finland and its partner, Nordic Regional Airlines (Norra) a regional airline in the Nordic region. The signing ceremony for the agreement took place at Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey’s facility on 7th November 2022, with the attendance of Finnair’s and Norra’s management, LTAA’s management and employees.

“We always want to challenge our suppliers to find innovative and cost-effective solutions. The new agreement answers the call and we’re happy to continue our long-lasting cooperation with LTAA”, said Marko Anttila, Head of Engine Business Area, Lufthansa Technik.

According to the newly signed agreement between the two companies, Lufthansa Technik will provide maintenance services for 25ea CF34-10 engines, operated by Finnair’s preferred partner Norra. This contract according to Lufthansa Technik is a further step to strengthen the company’s partnership with both Finnair and Norra and attest to the trust and connectivity the companies have in Lufthansa Technik’s services.

Finnair, from its home hub at Helsinki Airport, Finland operates Airbus A320, A330, and A350 series aircraft connecting Europe, North America and Asia via the Helsinki hub. Nordic Regional Airlines (Norra) is based at Helsinki Airport. Norra is a joint venture between DAT A/S (60%) and Finnair (40%). Currently, the airline operates 12 Embraer 190 aircraft and 12 ATR 72 aircraft on behalf of its airline customers.

Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey (LTAA), a member of Lufthansa Technik Group, is specialized in the maintenance of engines for regional aircraft and associated additional services. The portfolio includes maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the General Electric CF34 series, the Passport 20 engine, the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW100, the PW150 series and the Pratt & Whitney PW1500G GTF.

The General Electric CF34 is a civilian high-bypass turbofan developed by GE Aircraft Engines from its TF34 military engine. The CF34 is used on a number of business and regional jets, including the Bombardier CRJ series, the Embraer E-Jets, and the Comac ARJ21. In 2012, there were 5,600 engines in service.
