Lufthansa Technik and Hawaiian Airlines have entered into a comprehensive Total Component Support (TCS) contract covering Hawaiian Airlines’ entire Airbus A330ceo and A321neo fleets. This agreement will encompass parts pooling support for up to 52 aircraft over the next seven years, with the option for extension. This collaboration marks the first Lufthansa Technik TCS contract for Hawaiian Airlines and includes passenger configurations for 18 Airbus A321neo and 24 Airbus A330ceo aircraft. Additionally, it covers ten converted Airbus A330-300 Passenger-to-Freighter aircraft that Hawaiian Airlines will operate for Amazon and its Amazon Air division.

Under this agreement, Lufthansa Technik will handle component maintenance, provide access to the company’s component pool, logistics services, and establish home base stocks at several Hawaiian Airlines maintenance bases, including airports in Honolulu, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Hawaiian Airlines is the largest and longest-serving airline in Hawai’i, providing domestic and international flights. This partnership expands Lufthansa Technik’s presence in providing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for Airbus aircraft in the United States.

Jim Landers, Hawaiian Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Technical Operation said, “When we set out to find a maintenance provider for components installed on our Airbus fleet, we looked for an established MRO organization that shared our focus to safely deliver reliable aircraft and components to the operation on-time and at a competitive price. We believe we found that partner with Lufthansa Technik, and we look forward to their support of our Airbus fleet in the years to come.”

The collaboration emphasizes the critical role of component support and MRO services in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of airline fleets. With Lufthansa Technik’s expertise, Hawaiian Airlines aims to continue delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective air travel services to its passengers.

As the aviation industry evolves, airlines seek to optimize their operations and maintain their fleets to meet the highest safety and performance standards. Collaborations like the one between Lufthansa Technik and Hawaiian Airlines play a vital role in achieving these objectives, ensuring that passengers can continue to travel with confidence and comfort.

Georgios Ouzounidis, Vice President Corporate Sales Americas, Lufthansa Technik said, “We are thrilled to enhance our existing partnership with Hawaiian Airlines with this component support that will foster our long-lasting relationship. Through improved material supply and logistics, our Total Component Support guarantees optimal availability for Hawaiian Airlines’ passenger and growing freighter Airbus fleets.”
