As a part of the base maintenance check LTM invested several million euros in preparation for the technical support of the Boeing 787.

LTM for the base maintenance check invested highly for the technical support of the Boeing 787, including the training of its technical experts and the procurement of the necessary tools and materials.

Lufthansa Technik Malta (LTM) achieved an important milestone of completing their first base maintenance check on a Boeing 787. Lufthansa Technik Malta recently performed C-check for LOT Polish Airlines comprising of extensive assessment of the various systems of the aircraft and its structure consisting to a very large extent of composite materials.

As a part of the base maintenance check LTM invested several million euros in preparation for the technical support of the Boeing 787, including the training of its technical experts and the procurement of the necessary tools and materials.

Maria Cilia, chief executive, LTM said, “This milestone stands as further testament to how much this company has grown and evolved into a wide-body center of excellence.”

She further thanked the customers for their trust in LTM’s service and her team for its dedication, passion and continued commitment to the customers and the company.

Andreas van de Kuil, LTM’s vice president central sales Europe and CIS said, “The recent layover not only marked the first 787 check for our team in Malta, it moreover marked our first ever (base maintenance) services for our valued Polish customer.”

Pleased with the completion of the first base maintenance check on its B787-9 Krzysztof Krolak, vice president technical operations at LOT Polish Airlines acknowledged the fact that this milestone came only months after LTM’s announcement to expand its product portfolio to include Boeing’s popular long-haul widebody. He further appreciated LTM efforts by saying that this milestone underscores the robust capabilities and technical expertise within the Lufthansa Technik network.
