Lufthansa Technik Philippines will continue providing base maintenance for Emirates’ Airbus A380 fleet through 2030 under a new multi-year agreement between the two companies.
The contract covers heavy maintenance checks on Emirates A380 aircraft and is already being carried out at Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ existing facility in Manila. Two dedicated base maintenance lines have been assigned to the Emirates programme to support the airline’s A380 fleet.
Emirates will also become the launch customer for Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ new maintenance facility at Clark International Airport once the facility begins operations. The additional capacity will support the company’s widebody base maintenance activities in the region.
Lufthansa Technik Philippines has been carrying out heavy maintenance on Emirates A380 aircraft since 2023. More than 30 A380 checks have been completed for the airline to date.
The agreement is one of the largest contracts by value in Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ history and extends the company’s role in supporting Emirates’ A380 fleet, which remains the largest A380 fleet operated by an airline.
Kai Roepke, Vice President Corporate Sales Europe, Middle East and Africa at Lufthansa Technik, said, “We sincerely thank Emirates for its continued trust and confidence in our organization. This agreement reflects the success of our partnership and the high quality consistently delivered by our teams. As the world’s leading provider of MRO services, we are proud to support the operation of the world’s largest passenger aircraft and to further strengthen our collaboration with Emirates. We look forward to continuing to offer reliable, high-quality maintenance support for the airline’s impressive A380 fleet in the years ahead.”

The extended programme will cover A380 heavy checks at Manila and, following the start of operations at Clark, will add capacity for widebody base maintenance. The arrangement is expected to provide continued maintenance support for Emirates’ A380 fleet as the aircraft remain in service through the end of the decade.
The contract also strengthens Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ position in the A380 MRO market, particularly for heavy maintenance and base maintenance work on the aircraft’s airframe and associated systems.
