Lockheed Martin, a leading aerospace and defense company, has announced the appointment of Shelly O’Neill Stoneman as the senior vice president of Government Affairs, effective August 28 2023. Stoneman, who previously served as SVP for Government Relations at BAE Systems, brings a wealth of experience in both the public and nonprofit sectors, including roles at the Pentagon, the White House, and Capitol Hill.

In her new role, Stoneman will be responsible for leading Lockheed Martin’s engagements with the U.S. Congress, the Department of Defense, and managing relationships with federal, state, and local government customers. Her extensive experience in the industry and government will be instrumental in maintaining Lockheed Martin’s position as a premier partner for 21st Century Security solutions.

Stoneman’s appointment follows the retirement of Greg Walters, who has served as acting SVP and Vice President of Legislative Affairs at Lockheed Martin for nearly two decades. Taiclet thanked Walters for his leadership and contributions to the company and wished him well in his future endeavors.
