The milestone delivery for USSOCOM was a WESCAM MX-25D electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) and laser designator sensor system delivered in support of the AFSOC’s AC-130J gunship modernization strategy.
L3Harris Technologies,an American technology company, defense contractor, and information technology services provider has announced that the company has successfully completed delivery of its 6,000th WESCAM MX-Series imaging system to U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The WESCAM MX-Series provides services to customers in more than 80 countries with advanced intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and targeting capabilities. The milestone delivery was a WESCAM MX-25D electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) and laser designator sensor system delivered in support of the Air Force Special Operations Command’s (AFSOC’s) AC-130J gunship modernization strategy.
“The next-generation electro-optics and infrared sensors in the WESCAM MX-25D will provide the special operations forces with world-leading advanced situational awareness and key targeting and laser designation capabilities,” said Kristin Houston, President, Electro Optical, L3Harris. “L3Harris WESCAM MX-Series products have successfully supported USSOCOM and AFSOC aviation programs for more than 20 years, specifically the AC-130 H, U, W, and J model gunships. We’re truly honored that the 6,000th unit milestone was reached with our delivery to the USSOCOM and AFSOC AC-130J gunship Block 30 upgrade program,’ she further added.
