King Aerospace names Sam Jackson as Chief Operations Officer

King Aerospace has named aviation industry veteran Sam Jackson as Chief Operations Officer, with responsibility for operations across the company’s maintenance and modification activities.

Jackson brings more than 20 years of aviation industry experience, including senior roles in MRO, maintenance, engineering, materials, and quality. Before joining King Aerospace, he served as General Manager and Vice President of Operations at Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services, where he oversaw around 800 employees.

He previously held the position of Vice President of Maintenance at Flightstar Aircraft Services and Director of Maintenance at HAECO Americas.

As COO, Jackson will oversee operations across King Aerospace’s sites, which support corporate, VVIP, government, military and special mission aircraft.

“Sam is a tremendous addition to the King Aerospace leadership team,” said King Aerospace President Jarid King. “He brings the operational discipline, industry insight and people-first leadership that are essential as we continue evolving the company for its next chapter of growth in the special missions, maintenance and VVIP segments.”

Jackson said his initial focus will be on understanding the company’s operations and identifying areas where efficiency and coordination can be improved.

“My first priority has been to gain a clear understanding of where King Aerospace has the greatest opportunity to grow,” Jackson said. “The insight of our people is essential to identifying both our strengths and the areas where we can improve. From there, we can align around a shared vision and continue building a stronger, more agile organization”, he added.

Jackson is an FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant technician and began his aviation career as a jet engine mechanic in the US Marine Corps. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
