Warren Christie as new COO will be overseeing day-to-day operational performance, also encompassing JetBlue’s airports, flight operations, inflight experience, safety, security, system operations, and JetBlue University’s training academy.

JetBlue Airways has announced the promotion of Warren Christie to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective February 12, 2024. This appointment aligns with the previously communicated transition of the current President and COO, Joanna Geraghty, to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In his new role, Christie will report directly to Geraghty. This strategic leadership transition underscores JetBlue’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, operational efficiency, and safety, ensuring the airline remains a preferred choice for customers.

Currently serving as the Head of Safety, Security, Fleet Operations, Airports, and JetBlue University, Christie’s responsibilities will expand significantly as he assumes the role of COO. His new position will involve overseeing the airline’s day-to-day operational performance, including safe and reliable operations. Key areas under his purview will encompass JetBlue’s airports, flight operations, inflight experience, safety, security, system operations, technical operations functions, and JetBlue University’s training academy.

Warren Christie’s aviation career spans over 30 years, starting after his graduation from the University of Notre Dame in 1988. He served as an Officer in the United States Navy, piloting the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet. During his naval career, he instructed at the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and led staff and student training. Christie joined JetBlue in 2003 and has held various roles of increasing responsibility, showcasing his diverse expertise.
