Jet2 plc has selected CFM International’s LEAP-1A engines to power 54 additional Airbus A321neo aircraft, completing engine selection for its entire A321neo orderbook of 146 aircraft, alongside nine leased aircraft.
The agreement also includes a long-term engine maintenance services contract to support the airline’s expanding fleet and future operations.
“We are pleased to strengthen our long-standing relationship with CFM, which has been a key partner in our ongoing growth,” said Steve Heapy, Chief Executive Officer of Jet2 plc. He adds, “With all our new aircraft now confirmed with LEAP engines, we are fully committed to CFM to provide the best customer experience.”
Jet2 has been a CFM customer for more than two decades. In March 2022, the airline selected LEAP-1A engines for up to 75 Airbus A321neo aircraft. It expanded that commitment in March 2023 by choosing the same engines for up to 71 additional A321neo family aircraft. The airline currently operates 29 LEAP-1A-powered A321neo aircraft.

“We are proud that Jet2 plc continues to choose CFM as their engine partner,” said Gaël Méheust, President and CEO of CFM International. He further adds, “It is a partnership built on trust and performance, and we are fully committed to supporting Jet2’s operations for the years to come.”
According to CFM, more than 10,000 LEAP engines have been delivered worldwide. The company said it continues to introduce upgrades, including a high-pressure turbine (HPT) durability kit designed to extend engine time on wing and a reverse bleed system (RBS) intended to reduce maintenance requirements. CFM added that it is expanding maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) support through its open aftermarket network.
