Jet Aviation approved for drone inspections by Swiss Authority
Jet Aviation broadens automated drone and AI services for regulated inspections on Gulfstream G280, G550, G650, and other business jets.

Jet Aviation approved by Swiss FOCA for automated drone and automated AI-Technology GVIs, providing comprehensive visual records of aircraft exteriors.

General Visual Inspections (GVIs) serve as regulated maintenance checks aimed at detecting defects on aircraft surfaces. With this approval, Jet Aviation can conduct these checks using automated drone and AI technology, generating detailed paperless reports for customers and maintenance teams. This enhances efficiency and minimizes downtime for Pre-Purchase Inspections (PPIs).

“The FOCA approval is a significant milestone for our program as we continue to expand our automated drone and AI capabilities across our network. As we continue to challenge ourselves to reimagine business aviation, and grow our services, we can provide ground-breaking solutions for even the most challenging inspections, and offer new, innovative services centered around predictive maintenance.” said Vincent Rongier, vice president business operation support at Jet Aviation

In 2023, Jet Aviation introduced automated drone and AI technology for non-regulated services, encompassing PPI inspections of aircraft external structure, paint quality assessments, and inspections for insurance or warranty purposes. Presently, Jet Aviation extends its automated drone and AI services to encompass regulated inspections on a wide range of business jets, including the Gulfstream G280, G550, and G650, as well as narrow- and wide-body aircraft.

Jeremie Caillet, Jet Aviation president, said “As our customers and industry evolve, we are committed to innovation in service of an ongoing seamless experience across all of our lines of business, I’m very excited to integrate this cutting-edge technology into maintenance operations across our network, and by all that is yet to come.”
