JCB Aero expands MRO capabilities with Boeing 737 Part 145 approval

JCB Aero has expanded its aircraft maintenance capabilities after securing a new Part 145 maintenance approval for Boeing 737 aircraft, enabling the company to provide both base and line maintenance services to operators of the popular narrowbody family.

Based in Auch, near Toulouse, France, JCB Aero launched its MRO operations in October 2024. Since then, the company has completed several maintenance projects on Airbus aircraft. The new Boeing approval, received in August 2026, broadens its MRO portfolio and allows the company to support Boeing operators alongside its existing Airbus capabilities.

Approval covers Boeing 737 family

The new approval covers Base and Line Maintenance for the Boeing 737-600, 737-700, 737-800 and 737-900 variants. The addition of the 737 family is strategically significant for JCB Aero, giving the company access to a wider installed fleet and allowing it to support operators with mixed Airbus and Boeing fleets.

For airlines and aircraft operators, having an MRO provider capable of supporting multiple aircraft types can offer greater flexibility, particularly when maintenance requirements, aircraft availability and turnaround times need to be managed across different fleets.

Building on Airbus MRO experience

JCB Aero’s MRO operation in Auch has been building its capabilities since entering the market in 2024, initially focusing on Airbus aircraft. The Boeing approval represents the next stage of that development, expanding the scope of aircraft that can be accommodated at its facility.

Sébastien Kubler, Chief Operating Officer at JCB Aero, said: “Receiving this Boeing approval marks an important milestone in the development of JCB Aero’s MRO activities. Adding the Boeing 737 family to our existing Airbus capabilities enables us to serve a wider range of customers and further strengthens our position as a flexible and responsive MRO partner. This achievement is also a great recognition of the commitment and expertise of our teams.”

Preparing for Boeing operators

JCB Aero has already started issuing quotations for Boeing 737 maintenance work and expects several Boeing aircraft to arrive at its hangar in the coming months. The move comes as airlines and lessors continue to seek additional MRO capacity for the large global 737 fleet. With operators facing growing demand for maintenance slots and the need to keep aircraft available for service, additional Part 145 capacity can help expand the options available to customers.

For JCB Aero, the Boeing approval therefore goes beyond adding another aircraft type to its capability list. It strengthens the company’s position as a multi-platform MRO provider and provides an opportunity to build relationships with a broader customer base.

Expanding the MRO footprint

The development also reflects a wider trend in the European MRO market, where providers are expanding their capabilities to serve more aircraft types and respond to changing fleet requirements. For JCB Aero, combining its existing Airbus capabilities with Boeing 737 Base and Line Maintenance creates a broader service offering from its Auch facility.

As the company begins welcoming its first Boeing aircraft under the new approval, the focus will now shift from certification to execution, demonstrating that the newly approved capability can deliver the quality, flexibility and responsiveness expected by Boeing operators.

The first Boeing 737 arrivals will mark an important next step in JCB Aero’s MRO expansion and its ambition to establish a broader presence in the European aircraft maintenance market.
