Japan Coast Guard Expands SUBARU BELL 412 EPX Fleet to Six Helicopters for Enhanced Operational Capabilities.

Bell Textron Inc., a subsidiary of Textron Inc., announced that Subaru Corporation has secured a contract with the Japan Coast Guard for two additional SUBARU BELL 412 EPX helicopters. These aircraft will bolster the Coast Guard’s maritime security, search and rescue operations, disaster relief efforts, and cargo transport capabilities. With this latest acquisition, the Japan Coast Guard’s fleet of SUBARU BELL 412 EPX helicopters now totals six.  

The Japan Coast Guard has operated over 40 Bell 212 and 412 helicopters for more than five decades. Transitioning to the SUBARU BELL 412EPX was a logical progression due to the shared design similarities. The SUBARU BELL 412EPX offers an extended hover ceiling, increased payload capacity, a robust main rotor gearbox, and dry run capability, ensuring superior operational performance and efficiency. It also maintains its long-standing reputation for reliability. Additionally, the fleet features state-of-the-art integrated avionics with large, intuitive displays that significantly reduce pilot workload.
