Jackson Square Aviation selects Pratt’s GTF and LEAP-1A engines for A320neo fleet

Jackson Square Aviation (JSA) has selected both Pratt & Whitney GTF and CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power its expanding Airbus A320neo family fleet, strengthening partnerships with the two engine manufacturers while supporting growing airline demand for next-generation, fuel-efficient aircraft.

Under the latest agreements, JSA has chosen Pratt & Whitney’s GTF engines to power an undisclosed number of Airbus A320neo family aircraft. Separately, the lessor has selected CFM International’s LEAP-1A engines for up to 30 Airbus A320neo family aircraft from its previously announced Airbus order.

The dual engine selections reflect the global aircraft lessor’s strategy of offering airline customers greater fleet flexibility while expanding its portfolio of modern, fuel-efficient narrowbody aircraft.

The Pratt & Whitney agreement further strengthens the companies’ long-standing relationship. Jackson Square Aviation currently has 91 GTF-powered Airbus A320neo family aircraft and 11 V2500-powered Airbus A320ceo aircraft within its portfolio.

Pratt & Whitney said its geared turbofan (GTF) engine delivers approximately 20% lower fuel consumption and a 75% smaller noise footprint than previous-generation engines, helping airlines reduce both operating costs and environmental impact. More than 2,800 GTF-powered aircraft are currently in service worldwide, with an order backlog exceeding 8,000 engines.

In a separate agreement, Jackson Square Aviation selected CFM International’s LEAP-1A engines to power up to 30 Airbus A320neo family aircraft. The deal marks the first time the lessor has chosen LEAP engines for its A320neo fleet, expanding its long-standing relationship with both Airbus and CFM International.

CFM said the LEAP-1A engine was selected for its fuel efficiency, operational reliability and lower emissions, supporting airlines as they modernise fleets and improve sustainability performance.

Jackson Square Aviation currently owns, manages or has commitments for 344 aircraft serving 64 airlines across 34 countries, making it one of the world’s leading aircraft lessors.

The latest engine selections reinforce JSA’s commitment to providing airline customers with flexible fleet solutions while meeting rising global demand for efficient next-generation single-aisle aircraft.
