Jackson Square Aviation launches 20-aircraft sale-and-leaseback deal with IndiGo

Jackson Square Aviation (JSA) has delivered the first Airbus A320neo aircraft to IndiGo, marking the start of a landmark 20-aircraft sale-and-leaseback agreement that will support the Indian carrier’s continued fleet expansion through 2028.

The transaction strengthens the long-standing partnership between the aircraft lessor and India’s largest airline, with deliveries scheduled to take place progressively over the next several years.

Riyaz Peermohamed, Chief Aircraft Acquisition and Financing Officer at IndiGo, said the agreement reflects the airline’s continued growth ambitions.

“We are delighted to expand our partnership with Jackson Square Aviation through this twenty-aircraft sale-and-leaseback transaction. We value JSA’s continued support of our growth ambitions and look forward to working together as we keep building scale across our domestic and international network,” he said.

Jackson Square Aviation CEO Kevin McDonald described the agreement as an important milestone in the companies’ decade-long relationship.

“We are honoured to continue supporting IndiGo with these twenty new-technology Airbus A320neo aircraft deliveries. Our partnership spans more than a decade, and we’re proud to remain a trusted partner as the airline advances its ambitious growth plans and strengthens its position in one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets,” McDonald said.

He added that the Airbus A320neo’s improved fuel efficiency and lower carbon dioxide emissions would support IndiGo’s sustainability goals while enhancing operational performance.

David Jones, CMO at Jackson Square Aviation, said the lessor remains committed to providing customised fleet solutions to meet the airline’s evolving requirements.

“We look forward to continuing to work closely with IndiGo, delivering tailored fleet solutions that support its evolving growth requirements across India and international markets. We extend our sincere thanks to the IndiGo team for their continued trust and partnership,” Jones said.

The agreement underscores Jackson Square Aviation’s continued support for IndiGo’s expansion strategy as the airline adds next-generation aircraft to its fleet to meet growing demand across domestic and international markets.
