Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), a leading aerospace and aviation manufacturer, has inaugurated its Indian subsidiary, Aerospace Services India (ASI), in New Delhi, solidifying its partnership with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). This strategic move underscores IAI’s commitment to bolstering India’s defence capabilities and aligns with the country’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat: Make In India’ vision. The primary objective of ASI is to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the maintenance and service operations of advanced defence systems for the Indian Armed Forces. By leveraging its state-of-the-art facilities, ASI aims to streamline repair processes, reduce turnaround time, and localize operations to mitigate costs.

ASI will provide bespoke solutions tailored to the specific requirements of the Indian Armed Forces. Through a fusion of technical expertise and cutting-edge technology, ASI will ensure the optimal operational readiness of India’s defence assets, thereby bolstering the country’s national security.

A significant aspect of ASI’s mandate is its role as the sole authorized technical representative of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the MRSAM system. Developed jointly by IAI and DRDO, MRSAM is an advanced air system deployed by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force to safeguard against various aerial threats.

ASI’s workforce comprises approximately 50 individuals, with 97% being Indian nationals, reflecting the company’s commitment to local talent and employment generation. The headquarters, situated in Delhi, serve as the nerve center of operations, with additional branches strategically located across the Indian subcontinent to ensure efficient service delivery.
