Indo Aerospace Solutions strengthens presence in India’s growing MRO hub

New warehouse in GMR Hyderabad Aviation SEZ positions the company closer to Safran’s LEAP engine facility, GMR Aero Technic and a rapidly expanding aerospace ecosystem

Indo Aerospace Solutions has opened a new warehouse in the GMR Hyderabad Aviation Special Economic Zone (SEZ), marking a strategic expansion into one of India’s fastest-growing aerospace and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) clusters.

The new facility is expected to bring the company closer to airlines, MRO providers and aerospace manufacturers operating in the Hyderabad aviation ecosystem, allowing it to provide faster inventory support and improve supply chain responsiveness for customers across the region.

The expansion comes as Hyderabad continues to attract major investments in aircraft maintenance, engine services and aerospace manufacturing, strengthening its position as a key aviation hub in India.

Why Hyderabad

The GMR Hyderabad Aviation SEZ has emerged as an important centre for India’s aviation aftermarket, bringing together aircraft maintenance providers, engine specialists and aerospace manufacturers within a single industrial ecosystem.

The cluster is home to GMR Aero Technic, one of India’s established MRO providers, while Safran’s LEAP engine maintenance facility has further reinforced Hyderabad’s growing importance in the global aero-engine supply chain. Several other aerospace and MRO investments are also taking shape in the region, creating a concentrated network of aviation businesses.

For companies involved in aircraft components, engineering materials and aftermarket services, proximity to such facilities can significantly reduce delivery times and improve operational efficiency.

A supply chain move, not just a warehouse

Indo Aerospace Solutions said the Hyderabad warehouse has been established to strengthen its support for customers by placing inventory closer to key aviation partners.

The company, which has built its business over the past 15 years, said the new location will enable greater proximity, faster response times and more customised stock solutions for customers operating in South India’s aerospace market.

Rather than serving as a standalone storage facility, the warehouse is expected to function as a regional logistics centre supporting aircraft maintenance activities and industrial customers across the aviation ecosystem.

Supporting India’s MRO market

The timing of the expansion reflects broader changes taking place in India’s aviation industry. Indian airlines continue to add aircraft at record levels, increasing demand for spare parts, engineering materials and maintenance support. At the same time, government initiatives aimed at developing domestic MRO capabilities are encouraging companies across the aviation supply chain to establish a stronger local presence.

As MRO operations expand, the availability of nearby inventory has become increasingly important, helping reduce aircraft downtime and supporting quicker maintenance turnaround times.

Hyderabad’s aviation ecosystem is increasingly evolving beyond individual facilities into an integrated aerospace cluster where manufacturers, MRO providers, logistics companies and suppliers operate in proximity. Such clusters can improve collaboration across the supply chain while making it easier for companies to support both domestic and international aviation customers.

Indo Aerospace Solutions‘ decision to establish operations within the GMR Hyderabad Aviation SEZ reflects this shift, as companies seek to position themselves closer to the growing concentration of aviation activity in the region.

With engine maintenance facilities, aircraft MRO operations, and aerospace manufacturing continuing to expand, Hyderabad is steadily strengthening its role as one of India’s most strategically important aviation hubs, and suppliers are increasingly moving into the ecosystem to support its next phase of growth.
