IndiGo Trials AirFi's Wireless IFE Solution on Delhi-Goa Routes
IndiGo passengers can access to AirFi's 3D moving map, which tracks the flight's route in real-time using the aircraft's ADS-B receiver.

IndiGo partners with AirFi to enhance passenger experience through wireless streaming entertainment, featuring curated content and innovative interactive features through HELLO 6E.

IndiGo, India’s largest airline in terms of fleet size and passenger volume, has chosen AirFi, a provider of portable inflight entertainment (IFE), to conduct a three-month trial of wireless streaming in-flight entertainment. Starting from May 1st, AirFi’s solution was activated on flights operating between Delhi and Goa. The expanding low-cost carrier anticipates that AirFi’s wireless in-flight entertainment portal, accessible through the IndiGo mobile app as HELLO 6E, will serve as a valuable tool for enhancing the customer experience for digitally inclined passengers aboard its flights.

The streaming entertainment aspect of AirFi’s solution is facilitated by two content partners: Mumbai-based Shermaroo Contentino and California-based West Entertainment. This collaboration offers access to a curated library of 200 hours of Indian and Hollywood movies, TV shows, music, and games.

“IndiGo is where it is today because of the bold choices it makes. They don’t do anything by halves, which is why we’re thrilled to have been chosen for this trial. IndiGo is on a journey of continuous digitization, and we believe AirFi, as the global market-leader in streaming IFE technology, is uniquely placed to help the carrier achieve its goal of catering to evolving passenger expectations.” said AirFi’s CEO, Job Heimerikx

Passengers can access AirFi’s innovative 3D moving map product, which utilizes the aircraft’s ADS-B receiver to track the flight’s route in real-time. This feature provides precise location, speed, and altitude information throughout the journey. Additionally, the map allows passengers to zoom in on geographical features and discover points of interest around the flight’s origin and destination. Moreover, passengers can participate in an integrated treasure hunt within the moving map interface.
