IndiGo has made a significant milestone with this move by introducing business class seating on IndiGo’s A321neo fleet.
IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has partnered with RECARO Aircraft Seating to fit its new A321neo business cabins with the RECARO R5 seats. the aircraft will be equipped with RECARO R2 seats in the economy class.
This move marks a milestone as it introduces business class seating on IndiGo’s A321neo fleet. These seats are designed to provide advanced comfort and functionality, featuring a 38-inch pitch, ergonomic customization, and a lightweight design.

A total of 45 shipsets have been ordered for this upgrade, with each A321neo aircraft to be equipped with 12 business class seats and 208 economy class seats. Deliveries of the aircraft are slated to begin in Q4 2024, with all business class installations expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

The R5 seats feature customized diamond-pattern quilted covers and advanced comfort cushions. They include a distinctive backrest with privacy wings and an oversized center console with storage for small items, designed to enhance the passenger experience on short and medium-haul flights. Each seat is equipped with PC power and USB-C charging outlets, as well as a tablet holder, to provide an improved inflight entertainment experience.
