GA-ASI and Huneed Technologies have signed a MOU to produce the flat panel array for GA-ASI’s Lynx and Eagle-Eye Multi-mode Radar systems as the MQ-9A Reaper and MQ-20 Avenger versions employ the Lynx radar.

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) and Huneed Technologies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the production of a flat panel array for GA-ASI’s Lynx® and Eagle-Eye Multi-mode Radar systems on October 18, 2023, at ADEX (Seoul International Aerospace & Defence Exhibition). The MQ-9A Reaper and MQ-20 Avenger® versions of GA-ASI’s range of Unmanned Aircraft Systems employ the Lynx radar, while the MQ-1C Grey Eagle Extended Range (ER) and 25M models use Eagle-Eye. For the radar products made by GA-ASI, a new common radar antenna subsystem will be created using Huneed’s flat panel array technology.

Jaime Walters, vice president of International Strategic Development at GA-ASI said, “Huneed is Korea’s leading defense and aviation company with a long track record of establishing successful business relationships with a number of global OEMs in the aerospace industry. Huneed possesses advanced processes and production capabilities to join our global supply chain, and we appreciate Huneed’s long-term partnership.”

Manufacturer of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) used by the United States and its allies for intelligence collection and striking capability is GA-ASI. Since its foundation in 1992, GA-ASI has given more than 1,000 unmanned aircraft away, and its aircraft have logged more than 8 million hours in the air. The MQ-9B SkyGuardian® and SeaGuardian®, two of GA-ASI’s newest and most technologically advanced aircraft, are designed to satisfy the demands of its clients across several environments and domains.

Huneed’s Chairman Eugene Kim said, “Unmanned technology is crucial for global security, safeguarding pilots while improving battlefield monitoring. Partnering with GA-ASI showcases Huneed’s capabilities, and we are dedicated to demonstrating excellence in our contributions.”
