Honeywell and ITP Aero have unveiled plans to establish a new authorized service center in Madrid at ITP Aero’s Ajalvir site and will open by the end 2024, marking the first European center dedicated to Honeywell’s F124-GA-200 engines.

Honeywell and ITP Aero, a prominent aerospace propulsion company, have unveiled plans to establish a new authorized service center for Honeywell’s F124-GA-200 aircraft engines. This service center, based in Madrid at ITP Aero’s Ajalvir site, will operate as a licensed maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility for the International Turbine Engine Company (ITEC), a joint venture between Honeywell Aerospace Technologies and the Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC). The collaboration signifies Honeywell’s strategic alignment with the future trends of aviation, aiming to provide advanced technological support to enhance efficiencies and promote sustainable operations.

The new service center, slated to be operational by the end of 2024, marks the first European center dedicated to Honeywell’s F124-GA-200 engine. It will cater to more than 150 engines in the region, offering local repair capabilities that promise faster turnaround times for operators. This localized approach ensures that engines can be transported and repaired swiftly, contributing to enhanced operational efficiency. Notably, this Madrid facility will be Honeywell’s third regional service center for F124-GA-200 engine support, complementing existing centers in North America and the Asia Pacific region.

“These engines have been the backbone of numerous air forces around the globe,” said John Head, vice president and general manager for Engines, Honeywell Aerospace Technologies. “What sets the engine apart is its modular design, ease of maintenance, and remarkable power-to-weight ratio.
