Honeywell appoints Saudia Technik to support Boeing 777 aircraft

The Honeywell auxiliary power units fitted on B777 aircraft will be serviced by Saudia Technic.

A premier full-service maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) company, Saudia Technic has been selected by Honeywell to be the first Middle Eastern sole authorised Honeywell service centre with a worldwide licence to service the 331-500 auxiliary power units (APUs) installed on Boeing 777 aircraft.

Mohammed Mohaisen, president and CEO of Honeywell, Middle East and North Africa, said, “Honeywell is proud to extend our existing relationship and service capabilities in region. The combination of Saudia Technic’s delivery expertise and Honeywell’s innovation will unlock tremendous value for our customers and highlights Honeywell’s continued commitment to working with key stakeholders to localize our solutions.”

One of the biggest and most seasoned MROs in the Middle East and North Africa, Saudia Technic is fully owned by Saudia Group and was formerly known as Saudi Arabian Aerospace Engineering Industries. With its cutting-edge MRO Village in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Saudia Technic is leading the development of the largest MRO infrastructure in the MENA area, supporting growth and elevating Saudi Arabia’s stature as a major regional aviation hub.

Captain Fahd H. Cynndy, CEO of Saudia Technic, said, “Saudia Technic is honored to have earned the trust of global manufacturing giants like Honeywell, which has solidified our position as an authorized maintenance facility and a reliable partner in the aviation industry. Our relentless commitment to passion and precision drives us to the forefront of aviation innovation, where we are actively shaping Saudi Arabia’s aviation future.”

Under the terms of the ten-year contract, Saudia Technic will offer the 331-500 APU model inspection, repair, overhaul, and upgrades from the MRO Village. Instead of transporting their APUs to facilities outside of the Middle East, owners and operators of these aircraft can now service them locally.

Ryan Lees, president, EMEAI Aftermarket, Honeywell Aerospace, said, “Saudia Technic is one of the largest and most experienced MROs in the region, and we are proud to extend our relationship with their team. Our collaboration continues to provide many advantages for our customers, including the ability to significantly reduce aircraft downtime, saving time and money with local repairs in the Middle East.”

This agreement is testament to that commitment and the confidence that Honeywell places not only on the capabilities of Saudi enterprises like Saudia Technic, but also the country’s broader strategy and direction, under Vision 2030.”
